Yaniv Newman Co-Presents and Sharon Huerta Moderates Upcoming SDCBA Cyber-Risk Program

Sullivan Hill’s Yaniv Newman will be a co-presenter and Sharon Huerta will be the moderator for the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA)‘s program titled, “Are You and Your Clients Paying Enough Attention to Cyber-Risk?” This highly informative Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program will cover cyber risk, the present landscape of cyber crime, the distinctions and overlaps between cyber insurance and other non-cyber insurance policies, and more. Mr. Newman will be presenting alongside Scott Cooper of Tower 23 IT and Natalie Sherod of Cavignac Associates. The program will take place on Friday, October 20, at 12:00 p.m. PT.

Mr. Newman is a member of Sullivan Hill’s Insurance Coverage, Construction Law and Commercial and Business Litigation practice groups. His practice is primarily focused on advising clients on insurance coverage matters and representing them in disputes and litigation relating to insurance coverage. As well, he assists construction clients, including owners, developers, public entities, contractors, and subcontractors, in navigating both insurance claims and all manner of construction-related issues that arise during the various stages of a construction project.

Ms. Huerta is a member of Sullivan Hill’s Insurance Coverage and Construction Law practice groups. She practices in all aspects of litigation, specializing in insurance coverage litigation and evaluation, bad faith, and developer representation. In addition, Ms. Huerta has significant experience in appellate writing and was primarily responsible for drafting briefs in numerous successful published and unpublished opinions, including Pulte Home Corp. v. American Safety Indem. Co., 14 Cal. App. 5th 1086 (2017); Pardee Construction Co. v. Ins. Co. of the West, 77 Cal. App. 4th 1340 (2000); and Emerald Bay Community Assn. v. Golden Eagle Ins. Corp., 130 Cal. App. 4th 1078 (2005).
