Sullivan Hill Shareholder and Chair of the Insurance/Bad Faith Section of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), Sharon Huerta, and Attorney Rebecca O’Grady authored case summaries of five recent California decisions regarding various aspects of insurance law. The case summaries were written for the “Insurance Law: 2019 Year in Review,” published by the Insurance/Bad Faith Section of the SDCBA. Ms. Huerta is a shareholder with Sullivan Hill and a member of the Insurance and Construction practice group. Ms. Huerta practices in all aspects of litigation, specializing in insurance coverage litigation and evaluation, bad faith, and developer representation. In addition, Ms. Huerta has significant experience in appellate writing and was primarily responsible for drafting briefs in numerous successful published and unpublished opinions, including Pulte Home Corp. v. American Safety Indem. Co., 14 Cal. App. 5th 1086 (2017); Pardee Construction Co. v. Ins. Co. of the West, 77 Cal. App. 4th 1340 (2000); and Emerald Bay Community Assn. v. Golden Eagle Ins. Ms. O’Grady is a member of Sullivan Hill’s Construction, Insurance, and Commercial and Business Litigation practice groups. She practices primarily in the areas of construction and insurance litigation matters, with an emphasis on construction defect actions, construction claims and insurance coverage disputes. Ms. O’Grady experience includes representation of developers, contractors, landlords and other businesses in all stages of commercial and civil litigation. She has obtained favorable results on behalf of her clients, in mediation, arbitration, and by way of successful dispositive motions.
