Congratulations to Shareholder Chris Hawkins for being appointed to serve as the Assistant Secretary to the Commercial Transactions Law Committee of the California Lawyers Association’s Business Law Section. Mr. Hawkins is tasked with record keeping for the committee and will serve for a one-year term commencing immediately.
Formerly known as the Uniform Commercial Code Committee, the Commercial Transactions Law Committee serves as a forum to educate California Lawyers Association Section members and State Bar of California members on current issues and recent developments in commercial law and secured transactions and to communicate with the California State Legislature and other groups concerning proposed legislation, revision, and issues regarding current statutes and regulations. Shareholder Chris Hawkins is the former managing partner of Sullivan Hill, serves on the firm’s executive committee, is a member of the Business Law Section of the CLA, and serves on the organization’s Commercial Transactions Committee.
Mr. Hawkins practices in the Insolvency and Commercial Bankruptcy, Business Transactions, and Commercial and Business Litigation practice groups. Within these practice areas, he represents a variety of corporate debtors, bankruptcy trustees, receivers, banks, trade creditors, asset purchasers and other parties in interest in all aspects of commercial insolvency, including bankruptcies, receiverships, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. He also represents clients with non-insolvency financial matters in both the transaction and litigation contexts.
