Of Counsel Paul H. Duvall will be presenting a course titled, “Understanding the Ins and Outs of California Leave Laws,” hosted by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) San Diego on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PST.

Mr. Duvall will present a comprehensive overview of the leave laws that impact a significant number of employees, as well as the complexities arising from conflicts and overlaps between these laws. The seminar will explore important inquiries such as the relationship between family medical leave and pregnancy leave, and whether leave is taken concurrently or consecutively.
The AGC is the voice of the construction industry since 1918. It is comprised of qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies dedicated to skill, integrity, and responsibility.
Prior to joining Sullivan Hill, Mr. Duvall was an attorney at a San Diego law firm representing plaintiffs in employment cases alleging discrimination, wrongful termination and wage/hour violations in state and federal courts. Before that, he was a managing partner of the San Diego office of King & Ballow where he represented various California newspapers and other clients in employment and labor matters. Previously, Mr. Duvall practiced law with Sullivan, Jones & Archer, a San Diego law firm specializing in complex civil litigation. During that time, he was a court-appointed defense attorney for indigent criminal defendants in the Southern District of California. Mr. Duvall was a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps and a law clerk for the Hon. Howard B. Turrentine.
