Sullivan Hill’s Kathleen Cashman-Kramer authored a case summary titled, “Show Me the Money: The Continuing Saga in Dismissed Unconfirmed Chapter 13 Cases – Johnson and Baum,” published in the Insolvency Law Committee (ILC) eBulletin by the Business Law Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA). The article was written by Ms. Cashman-Kramer with editorial contributions from ILC member Matthew D. Resnik of RMH Law.

In the article, Ms. Cashman-Kramer analyzes the two cases In re Baum, 650 B.R. 852 (Bankr. Ct. ED Mich. May 5, 2023) and In re Johnson, 650 B.R. 904 (Bankr. Ct. ND Ill., ED, May 12, 2023) and how the  chapter 13 trustee’s statutory fees are administered.

Ms. Cashman-Kramer is a member of Sullivan Hill’s Insolvency & Commercial Bankruptcy practice group. She practices in the areas of bankruptcy and other insolvency matters as well as in commercial and real estate litigation. Her representation in the Bankruptcy Court includes bankruptcy trustees, secured, priority and unsecured creditors, lessors, and bankruptcy debtors in commercial Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. She has represented a Chapter 13 Trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California. Ms. Cashman-Kramer currently serves as the vice-chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association, and is currently the secretary of the Insolvency Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the California Lawyers Association. She has served on the Bankruptcy Mediation Panel for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of California since 1995, and was named Mediator of the Year in September 2021.  Ms. Cashman-Kramer has also served as a Pro-Tem Judge for the Small Claims Department of the San Diego Municipal Court since 1992.
