Sullivan Hill’s Kathleen Cashman-Kramer will be a panelist for an upcoming presentation titled, “Consumer Cases in the Headlines” at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2021 Southwest Bankruptcy Conference. The panel will cover recent legislation and judicial decisions that have affected the consumer bankruptcy practice over the last year, including the recent Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit decisions on consumer cases. The presentation will take place on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
The American Bankruptcy Institute is the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals, founded in 1982. The association is made up of over 12,000 members, including attorneys, auctioneers, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and more. ABI provides congressional leaders and the general public with non-partisan reporting and analysis of bankruptcy regulations, laws and trends. The Southwest Bankruptcy Conference is where outstanding faculty of regional judges and practitioners will be presenting information-packed sessions on a variety of both business and consumer topics.
Of Counsel Kathleen Cashman-Kramer is a member of Sullivan Hill’s Insolvency & Commercial Bankruptcy practice group. She practices in the areas of bankruptcy and other insolvency matters as well as in commercial and real estate litigation. Her representation in the Bankruptcy Court includes bankruptcy trustees, secured, priority and unsecured creditors, lessors, and bankruptcy debtors in commercial Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. She has represented a Chapter 13 Trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California. She also has represented title insurance companies as well as individual and corporate parties in business and real estate litigation. Ms. Cashman-Kramer currently serves as the co-chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association.
