Sullivan Hill is pleased to announce that Candace Carroll, of counsel to the firm, has been appointed to the San Diego Convention Center Corporation’s board of directors by the San Diego City Council. Ms. Carroll will serve a three-year term on the seven-member board.
Ms. Carroll has more than 30 years experience handling appeals in the federal, state and bankruptcy appellate courts. She previously spent seven years in the Appellate Court Branch of the National Labor Relations Board in Washington D.C., and also served as Court Law Clerk to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
A graduate of Duke University Law School, Ms. Carroll was awarded the Charles S. Rhyne Award by the University in 2009 for demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity. She has taught seminars in Advanced Legal Writing at both Duke University Law School and the University of San Diego School of Law. She currently supervises a Ninth Circuit Legal Clinic at the University of San Diego School of Law, and also serves on the Duke University Law School Board of Visitors, and California Western Law School Council of Visitors.
Ms. Carroll is a lifelong supporter of various non-profit legal and civic organizations. She is a past president of the San Diego County Bar Association, and of California Women Lawyers, the statewide women’s bar association.
The San Diego Convention Center Corporation is a public benefit corporation created by the City of San Diego to exclusively manage and operate the 2.6-million-square-foot waterfront facility. The San Diego Convention Center has generated $22.9 billion in regional economic impact, $430.3 million in tax revenues and supports 12,500 jobs countywide.
