March 1, 2017 – Jim Hill, Sullivan Hill founding shareholder and current Chair of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California, reports on the future of the Business Law Section and the 15 other Sections of the State Bar as progress is made toward achieving separation of all the Sections from the regulatory public agency aspects of the State Bar.
Jim affirms that “the Sections have been studying structure and operational plans…in what will become their new independent business form.” Much work is underway in terms of transitioning all 16 Sections of the State Bar of California to a new structure, in order to “ensure that the Sections will thrive long into the future enjoying a special relationship with the public agency State Bar.”
The Business Law Section serves as a forum to educate its more than 8,200 members on recent developments and current issues in all fields of business law. It also provides a vehicle for the business law bar to communicate with other California lawyers, the California Legislature, regulatory agencies, business trade associations and the public at large.
