Steve is an experienced business and transactional attorney. His primary area of expertise is in the restaurant and hospitality industry, with specific focus on general business and corporate consulting, the purchase and sale of businesses, franchising law (including preparation and registration of Franchise Disclosure Documents), supply chain management, and labor and employment law. Steve also handles real estate transactions, primarily retail leasing transactions, for restaurants as well as other businesses.
From 2000 through 2014 Steve was an in-house attorney for Jack in the Box Inc. (NASDAQ: JACK). Among his responsibilities there he served as General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer for Qdoba Mexican Grill (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jack). In that position he had management responsibility for the franchising department, supply chain and distribution, quality assurance and food safety, and information technology in addition to his legal duties. During his time with Qdoba, he helped the system grow from 78 locations to more than 600. He also managed the Insurance and Risk Management Department for Jack in the Box, and has extensive experience with commercial insurance coverage.
